Analysis of the match between Samsunspor and Panathinaikos
In the first leg at home, Panathinaikos came from behind to defeat Samsunspor, the representative from Turkey. That victory gives the Greek side a strong psychological edge ahead of the second leg. However, since UEFA has abolished the away goals rule, Samsunspor still has a fair chance to progress.
In terms of form, Samsunspor has shown slightly better results with 5 wins in their last 10 matches, while Panathinaikos managed only 3 wins in the same span. Moreover, Samsunspor has been impressive at home, winning all 4 of their recent official games there.
Nevertheless, when it comes to squad quality and experience in European competitions, Panathinaikos clearly holds the upper hand. Therefore, the Greek club is expected to secure an away win, perhaps not by a wide margin, but enough to book their place in the Europa League 2025/26 play-off round.
