Analysis of the match between Club Brugge and Rangers
In contrast to Club Brugge โ who have kept three clean sheets in their last five matches โ Rangersโ defense has been shaky, conceding in each of their last five games. With such a fragile backline, it is hardly surprising that the Scottish side continue to struggle in their search for victories. Statistics show Rangers have only managed two wins in their last nine outings, leaving them with little reason for confidence ahead of their trip to Brugge.
Not only do Club Brugge hold home advantage, but they also come into this clash in excellent form. The Belgian side are on a five-match winning streak leading up to the rematch with Rangers. In the first leg, they struck three times within the opening 20 minutes, and although they later conceded once, Brugge still returned from Scotland with a convincing 3-1 victory.
That commanding win away from home has virtually secured their place in the next round. Moreover, Club Brugge remain unbeaten in their last six home matches (excluding friendlies), winning five of them. Given the current gulf in form and quality, Rangers will likely have to brace themselves for yet another defeat.
