Analysis of the match between Real Betis and Alavés
In the opening round of La Liga 2025/26, Betis were expected to deliver but could only manage a disappointing 1-1 draw at home against Elche. Without a creative spark like Antony in past seasons and with Isco sidelined through injury, Betis looked predictable in their approach. As a result, they sit in 10th place with just a single point after Matchday 1.
This weekend, Betis return home to face Alaves, who began their campaign on a brighter note by edging Levante 2-1. That victory has given the visitors plenty of belief and momentum heading into this clash.
Form-wise, there is little to separate the two sides, with both suffering two defeats in their last six matches. Betis, however, hold the advantage of playing at home, where they have lost only once in their previous five competitive outings.
Quality and experience are also on Betis’ side, though Alaves have proven resilient on the road, losing just once in their last five away fixtures. Recent meetings between the two clubs have been evenly balanced as well — two wins apiece and three draws from their last seven encounters. With that in mind, another stalemate could well be on the cards here.
